Compassionate Therapy for Trauma and OCD in Nevada
For adults navigating complex trauma, relational issues, and unwanted intrusive thoughts.
Are you wondering if life will ever get easier?
Stop just surviving the day. Start reclaiming your light.
Intrusive Flashbacks & Nightmares
You’re exhausted- you are constantly being reminded of the traumatic event, either in the form of flashbacks or nightmares.
The Exhausting Mask of "I'm OK"
On the outside, you might seem to have everything under control, but on the inside, you just want to run away from everything.
The Check-and-Recheck Loop
You are getting stuck with the same intrusive thought about something bad happening, so you check ad recheck to make sure. This leads to you being your anxiety being out of control, late to work, and/or your relationships fraying.
Chased by Your Own Mind
You might have tried to “think” your way out of these behaviors, might have tried to ignore them, but they keep chasing you everywhere you go.
The Restless 2:00 AM Wake-Up Call
These thoughts linger constantly especially at night. Even if you manage to fall asleep, they startle you awake in the early hours, reminding you that something important needs to be done right now.
The Exhausting Cycle of Constant Alertness
being constantly alert and on edge, always scanning the environment for potential threats seems never ending
For Couples
Stuck in a "roommate" dynamic
Struggling with constant defensiveness, surface-level arguments, and a growing sense of emotional disconnect.
Unspoken resentment
Small disagreements over chores masking a deeper feeling of distance and emotional isolation.
Communication breakdowns
Feeling unappreciated, emotionally neglected, and unable to discuss daily stress without triggering a fight.
Ready to break the cycle
You’re ready to move forward, not to just survive another day.
Hi! I am Avneet:
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Las Vegas, NV, I help individuals and couples move out of survival mode and step into a life of genuine ease and connection. Whether you’re carrying the weight of complex trauma, caught in OCD’s endless “what if” loop, or struggling to feel heard in your relationship, you don’t have to stay stuck in these heavy cycles.
My approach gets beneath the surface to the root of what’s holding you back. For trauma and deep-seated anxiety, I integrate body-mind modalities like Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help you process past hurts, reconnect with your authentic self, and rediscover your inner light. For OCD, we’ll use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to challenge intrusive thoughts and break the exhaustion of repetitive compulsions. When working with couples, I use Gottman and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) techniques to transform defensive conflict into kind, respectful, and deeply meaningful communication.
If you’re looking to accelerate your healing, I also offer Therapy Intensives. Designed to fast-track your progress, these immersive, multi-hour sessions condense months of weekly therapy into focused days—allowing you to break through stubborn obstacles and make transformative strides far sooner.

FAQ SECTION
I am a private-pay provider. I use Thrizer as my payment platform for private-pay sessions. If you have out-of-network benefits, Thrizer can also help make the out-of-network billing process easier. Through Thrizer, you can check your estimated out-of-network benefits, see an estimated session cost, pay for sessions, and have eligible out-of-network claims submitted for you. If your plan reimburses for out-of-network care, reimbursement is determined by your insurance after the claim is processed. If you are eligible, you may also have the option to pay an estimated upfront amount instead of paying my full session fee and waiting for reimbursement. You can use the widget below to check your estimated out-of-network benefits and session cost.
$200+ for individual therapy session, $200+ for couples therapy session.
Intensive therapy rates (extended therapy sessions) are listed on the intensive page.
I don’t accept insurance directly, but I partner with Thrizer to help you use your out-of-network benefits. This means you can often get 50-80% of your therapy session costs reimbursed. Thrizer handles the billing process for you, making it easy to get money back.
90-minute mini-intensive: A single, extended session to dive deeper into a particular issue or challenge. ($360+)
Half-Day Intensive (3-4 hours): A longer session for more comprehensive exploration and healing. ($720+)
Full-Day Intensive (6 hours): An even deeper dive into healing ($1320+)
Multi-day intensive (2+ Days, 4-6 Hours Per Day): A multi-day experience for intensive therapy work, offering significant progress and transformation in a short period. ($2600)
Yes, I offer a complimentary 15-minute phone/video consultation.
Absolutely! I use a HIPAA-compliant (secure) platform with SimplePractice. You will download the telehealth app with SimplePractice and receive a link for each appointment.
Sessions are 55 minutes long.
If you would like longer sessions for faster healing, sessions can be scheduled for 90 minutes to 4 hours at a time.
For the initial consultation, we will discuss your concerns, what your goals are for therapy, and any other questions you have for me.
For the initial session, we will spend the hour reviewing the informed consent documents, the assessments you filled out, and any additional goals you might have so we can develop an individual treatment plan.
The frequency of therapy sessions will depend on your individual needs and goals. Many clients attend therapy once a week, while others may attend less frequently. We will work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan.

A therapy intensive is an accelerated format where we compress months of traditional 50-minute weekly therapy into dedicated, multi-hour sessions over one or two days, allowing for uninterrupted focus and faster breakthroughs. A therapy intensive condenses months of traditional weekly sessions into a focused, multi-day experience—allowing you to bypass the long wait times of gradual progress and achieve meaningful breakthroughs in a fraction of the time.
Much like a Disney Lightning Lane / FastPass, an intensive lets you skip the endless line:
Skip the Waiting Room: Instead of spending months opening and closing heavy topics in 50-minute increments, you dive directly into deep work without the constant stopping and starting.
Fast-Track Your Progress: You bypass weeks of small talk and scheduling delays to reach core insights, healing, and skill-building in just a few dedicated days.
Get Back to Enjoying the Ride: By accelerating your growth, you gain immediate relief and actionable tools, allowing you to stop waiting for a better life and start living it now.
Weekly therapy requires starting up and winding down every 50 minutes, which often leaves major issues untouched. Intensives eliminate that transition time so you can dive directly into core problems without constant interruptions.
Intensives are ideal if you feel stuck in traditional therapy, need rapid relief from a major stressor or trauma, or simply don’t have space in your weekly schedule for ongoing appointments.
While the upfront investment is higher than a single session, intensives are often more cost-effective overall because you achieve your therapeutic goals in days or weeks rather than months or years.
Insurance typically does not cover extended, multi-hour intensive sessions. They are offered as a self-pay service, though out-of-network superbills can be provided upon request depending on your benefits.
Therapy is a deeply collaborative process, and my goal is to ensure you get the absolute most out of your time and investment. Because my approach is active, integrative, and change-focused, my practice may not be the right environment if you are currently seeking a traditional “venting-only” space.
You might get more value from another type of support if:
You’re looking solely for validation rather than active change: While feeling heard and validated is a core part of our work, true therapy also involves gently looking at where we hold accountability in our lives and relationships.
You aren’t ready to try new strategies or exercises outside of sessions: Deep healing—especially through modalities like ERP, EMDR, or Gottman work—requires bringing the tools we discuss in session into your day-to-day life.
You feel resistant to open-minded feedback or new perspectives: Therapy requires a willingness to explore uncomfortable truths, experiment with new behaviors, and move beyond debate into collaborative problem-solving.
Finding the right therapeutic fit is essential to your success. If you are looking for a gentle, action-oriented partner who will lovingly challenge you to grow, shift out of survival mode, and make tangible changes, we will likely be a wonderful match!
My practice is tailored for individuals and couples who are ready to move beyond just talking about their struggles and take active steps toward deep, lasting change. If you are tired of staying stuck in old loops and are eager to feel truly connected, grounded, and empowered, we will likely work wonderfully together.
You are a great fit for my approach if:
You value an inclusive, affirming space: As a feminist and LGBTQIA+-affirming therapist, I honor all gender identities, sexual orientations, and relationship structures, providing a safe, non-judgmental environment where your whole self is welcomed and celebrated.
You are ready for meaningful, active change: You want more than a space to vent—you are looking for actionable tools, fresh insights, and an intentional partner to guide you forward.
You are open to looking inward: You are willing to explore your patterns, practice gentle self-accountability, and try new ways of thinking and relating—even when it feels a little uncomfortable.
You are committed to practicing outside of session: You recognize that the real magic happens between appointments, and you are excited to engage with exercises, behavioral challenges, or communication practices in your daily life.
You value a compassionate, root-cause approach: Whether we are processing trauma with EMDR/IFS, breaking free from OCD loops with ERP, or strengthening your partnership with Gottman and EFT, you are ready to do the deep work that creates true ease and alignment.
If you are seeking an empathetic, grounded guide who will encourage, support, and kindly challenge you to step out of survival mode and into your full potential, you are in the right place!
